When you live or attend class on campus, great food is just a few steps away. Undergrad, graduate, and Dalhousie University study abroad participants enjoy the convenience of dining right at school with plenty of selections. Here are all the places to eat and drink across the school’s three campuses in Halifax.
Dining halls
Dining halls are an easy way to enjoy a meal on campus, especially if you are an on-campus resident. Dalhousie has four halls for students to utilize during the regular academic year, although they are only sometimes available over summer sessions. Dine-in students may eat as much as they like at these venues across campus. Take advantage of the meal-to-go plan, which allows you to plan for takeaway meals. If your schedule prohibits you from eating on-site, pre-order a meal up to 24 hours in advance with a form from the hall’s check-in desk.
Being in a new country means you'll likely encounter some new meal ingredients. Dalhousie University study abroad students might be interested in finding nutritional information at stations in the eating halls. If necessary, consult with the Food Services nutritionist about developing a plan to meet your requirements.
Sheriff's Dining Hall - Located in the Shirreff Residence Building, this is one of Dalhousie's most historic and beautiful structures on campus. It is also open during summer sessions and provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
O'Brien Dining Hall - Situated on the Sexton campus at the junction of Morris and Barrington Streets, this hall feeds roughly 275 meal-plan residents, numerous staff members, teachers, and off-campus students. Students may utilize a preset dining plan or pay on-site.
Risley Dining Hall - Located in the Risley Residence Building, Risley has distinct stations providing diverse culinary options to meet all our students' requirements. This hall serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner for fixed prices per meal.
Howe Dining Hall - This eating establishment, located on the Main Floor of Howe Hall, is another excellent choice for meeting students' diverse needs. Howe is closed during summer semesters but serves three meals daily during regular academic terms.
