Staying Fit at DCU

Fit

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and prioritizing your happiness are crucial if you want to make the most of your time while studying abroad at Dublin City University. There are many options to stay fit at DCU, including access to sports facilities, wellness and health programs, and other events and activities. Here are a few options to consider to help you feel your best while living in Dublin

DCU Sport

The DCU Sport facility offers state-of-the-art facilities for all of your recreational and health-related needs. Students may let off steam and enjoy some alone time in a safe and welcoming environment.

The University Sports Complex, DCU Sports Campus, and a sizable soccer center make up what is called "DCU Sport." The University Sports Complex offers more than 60 exercise courses, along with a fitness facility with more than 100 pieces of equipment, a pool, sports halls, a sauna, and a steam room. Students, staff, and alumni may purchase a membership by the year or by the semester through the school.

Cycling

bike

Riding a bicycle is one of the most affordable and straightforward methods for getting fit in DCU and Dublin. Cycling is not only a cost-effective way to get around town but also a great way to develop an enjoyable routine. Rediscover the exciting and liberating pleasure of getting around on a bicycle while improving your health. This is also an excellent approach to get a fresh viewpoint and become familiar with Dublin's layout while riding two wheels.

Become a Part of an Active Group

For students who want to stay active, DCU offers many options, such as joining a school club or social group. Check out the list of available clubs if you're looking to meet new people and get some exercise at the same time. For those who want to explore these activities, beginners may choose from various offerings, including track and field sports, dance, badminton, and swimming. If you like to run, look at the calendar for the DCU Social Runners to engage in some informal group training.

At DCU, many other clubs are available that don't include sports but can be advantageous for maintaining good mental wellbeing. Other groups, like the book club, chess, and the Japanese-English club, are also great places to meet new people and have fun while you're not thinking about your studies.

Walking

Strolling

Dublin is an excellent destination for strolls because of its cooler weather throughout the year. If nothing else, going for a quick or leisurely walk with a friend is a terrific way to relieve tension and get some cardiac activity while also providing a mental break from studying. Accumulate those steps when you go about the DCU campus or visit some of the most well-known attractions in the city!

Welfare Assistance

Being healthy and fit includes all aspects of your body and mind. DCU student services provide a wide range of physical, emotional, and mental assistance. Being aware of these services' availability is essential to feeling cared for when traveling overseas and knowing that assistance is accessible should you need it. Students at DCU have access to everything from medical care to counseling.

These recommendations help you remain in shape while studying abroad at DCU and gearing up for your big trip to Ireland. Schedule a meeting with a SAF counselor to find out more and learn about the resources or services available to help you take care of yourself while in Dublin.
