SAF was delighted to return to Beijing earlier this month for the 24th China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE), held from October 31 to November 2.
This year’s event, hosted at the China National Convention Center (CNCC), centered on the theme “Education: For All, For the Unknown, For the Future.” This much-anticipated gathering drew over 5,000 representatives from academia, government, and embassies across 60+ countries and regions, all working to advance innovation in global education.
As a longtime CACIE participant, SAF held its own session, the “Workshop on Promoting Global Cultural Exchange Through High-Quality Student Exchange Programs.”
Held on the morning of November 1, the workshop featured 16 speakers, including esteemed guest Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of CACIE. SAF’s own Amber Mercier (Vice President of Strategy, New Business Development & Analytics, IES Global and SAF) and Carol Carmody (Senior Vice President) also spoke, alongside prominent figures like Colette Plum, Associate Dean of Study Abroad at UC Berkeley.
The event focused on designing study abroad programs that help students build strong connections with local communities, as well as implementing high standards to enhance the quality of these exchanges between China and other countries. Senior experts from top institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, and China shared their insights on global trends in student mobility, innovative program design, and best practices for ensuring quality in exchange programs.
With nearly 200 attendees from universities worldwide, the event provided valuable perspectives from its panel of leading education experts. Several delegates from Chinese universities shared positive feedback, noting the session’s insights as instrumental in advancing study abroad opportunities for Chinese students.
This event reinforced SAF’s commitment to offering flexible, high-quality student exchange programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of universities, providing a world-class platform for international exchange for Chinese universities and students.
