With specialized offerings like environmental design and sustainable urban design, these credit-bearing programs are perfect for students eager to make a positive impact on the world.

University of California, Berkeley - Summer Academic Program in Environmental Design

Previously limited to the regular academic year, the new Summer Academic Program in Environmental Design at UC Berkeley is an unmissable opportunity for anyone passionate about the environment. This intensive July–August session invites highly motivated junior undergraduates to join a small cohort of post-grads at the Environmental Design College, a renowned institution famous for its links to Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. Through studio courses, site visits, and guest lectures, you’ll sharpen your skills, network with planet-minded peers and industry leaders, and create an impressive portfolio that stands out.

University of California, Berkeley - Summer Academic Program in Sustainable Urban Design

Students inspired to build a better future will find this multidisciplinary program a highly rewarding way to spend their summer. Over July and August, this forward-thinking program brings together a select cohort, focused on addressing global urban challenges like climate change and social justice. Over eight weeks, you’ll balance an unpaid internship with career-focused seminars, earning UC Berkeley credit while gaining invaluable real-world experience at leading companies. This fall, two new Dublin-based study abroad programs allow SAF students to study abroad during the academic year, taking courses at the prestigious Dublin City University (DCU) while earning transferable credits at their home universities.

Confident in your English skills and eager for an immersive academic experience? This fall, the DCU Academic Program offers a chance to study at one of Ireland’s most innovative universities. Perfect for students exploring non-language courses, you can dive into fields like business, engineering, humanities, or science. Running from late August to mid-December, this self-guided program lets students tailor their academic and personal journeys. Live in modern campus apartments, share spaces with local and international students, and fully embrace the rhythm of Irish university life for an unforgettable semester abroad.

Dublin City University Concurrent Program

Of course, if your goal this year is to improve your English without pausing your academic journey, then the DCU Concurrent Program is the perfect fit. University of the Arts London - London College of Communication Academic Program

If you’re a creative with dreams of a career in media or communications, this is your chance to take your skills to the next level. The London College of Communication, part of UAL, is a global leader in media education, boasting alumni like BBC executives and award-winning journalists, alongside a faculty of seasoned industry experts. From mid-August to late November, you’ll complete credit-eligible coursework in creative storytelling and critical thinking, all while mastering state-of-the-art media tools used in top newsrooms and creative agencies worldwide.

University of the Arts London - Central Saint Martins Academic Program

Study at the same fashion school that launched the careers of Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and John Galliano? If you’re a fashion lover dreaming of seeing your designs on the runway, this program’s for you. From mid-August to late November, push your creative boundaries at the iconic Central Saint Martins, the celebrated fashion college under UAL. SAF’s collaboration with Hanyang University, a top Korean institution, offers academic and internship opportunities beginning this fall, perfect for those eager to embrace the Korean way of life.

Hanyang University Academic Program

Students who value flexibility in shaping their academic journey will love the breadth of choices at Hanyang University. Starting in September, this program, which lasts for either a semester or the entire academic year, offers over 500 English-taught courses across 15 colleges. Many courses are reserved exclusively for visiting students, ensuring you’ll secure your spot in whichever class you choose. With cross-disciplinary learning encouraged, you can explore diverse subjects ranging from Korean cinema and cultural studies of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) to business courses and analysis of the Korean economy. It’s also a great choice for students with strong language skills but a less competitive GPA, providing a more accessible yet enriching experience at a top-ranked school.

Hanyang University Internship Program
