Choosing to intern abroad in London, Dawon Hwang travelled from Korea’s prestigious Yonsei University to take on an internship to enhance her degree in international relations and political science.
SAF and IES Abroad facilitated Dawon’s internship, building her confidence in mock interviews and matching her with a company where she would get the most meaningful, rewarding experience possible.
As the first intern IES Abroad at the aforementioned world-leading news organization, Dawon has vastly broadened her horizons by working alongside international colleagues with backgrounds, perspectives, and worldviews considerably different to her own.
Now, in her role, Dawon has ownership of supporting the consultancy with Korean-language projects, four full days each week. On the fifth day, she, like all IES Abroad interns, takes an internship seminar to explore the culture and lifestyles of her internship country.
Having proven herself, Dawon has an offer to work full time at the location of her internship after she graduates—there’s little wonder she recommends others do an internship with SAF and IES Abroad too!
