Academics
Johns Hopkins University Academic Approach
Johns Hopkins University prides itself on creating the perfect environment for academic achievement. As the top research university in the United States, it creates the ideal place to surround yourself with and learn from industry-leading researchers.
Johns Hopkins also has one of the simplest academic course registration processes across all SAF Programs. You work directly with a Johns Hopkins staff member to register.
The campus is traditional but in a major metropolitan city, so you get to experience the benefits of both lifestyles.
Courses
As a SAF Scholar, you register for classes through the university’s international/study abroad office. A staff member from their office personally enrolls you, so you just have to submit you course preferences. The international office work with you to meet any pre-requisites.
Course & Departmental Restrictions
If you’re an undergraduate student, Johns Hopkins strongly encourages you to take courses from the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the Whiting School of Engineering. Courses offered by other divisions (i.e. Business School, School of Public Health, etc.) may also be open to you, but many restrictions apply.
You may take graduate classes with university permission/correct pre-requisites and/or the faculty’s permission. Courses on Middle Eastern Studies have limited access, so you may have difficulty registering for those courses.
Graduate courses are available with university permission/correct pre-requisites and/or the faculty’s permission.
