Academics
University College London's Academic Approach
All UCL Summer School modules serve to incorporate the latest research in each subject area, and makes use of London as that unique learning resource, taking the learning experiences beyond the classroom through excursions and field trips.
As a UCL Summer School scholar, you have full-time student status and a UCL ID Card which entitles you to full access to the university’s 18 specialist and five permanent libraries.
With all of London’s museums, galleries and monuments on your doorstep, you have a wealth of resources to support your studies.

The program offers more than 50 modules from a wide range of subjects. Many of those modules are introductory, indicating you need no prior subject knowledge. Other modules do have specific requirements for admission.

Application Requirements
The requirements outlined in this section include the language proficiency scores you may need to demonstrate your language skills, a guide to the GPA range and other academic prerequisites required by your host university, and a list of documentation and other application materials you will need to finalize your application. You may need to supply additional information throughout the process, and you will be alerted through your emails and SAF Student Portal if this is the case for you.
Language Test Score Requirements
To prove your language proficiency, you can use any of the following for the majority of modules:
- IELTS: 7.0 *Minimum sub-score is 6.5
- TOEFL iBT: 100
For computer science, science, and mathematics modules, the following is required:
- IELTS: 6.5 *Minimum sub-score is 6
- TOEFL iBT: 92
