What is the BruinCard?

The BruinCard offers numerous benefits to those who study abroad at UCLA, serving as a multi-purpose ID and tool. These cards are a straightforward way to simplify student life and make being at school less complex. 

Here's how to utilize your BruinCard to its full potential:

Your Official University ID

Use your BruinCard as your official ID to attend campus activities and programs. This ID can also be shown to get discounts at specific merchants or anywhere that offers university students a discount and is used as proof of student status to attend certain school events. 

Access Card

The BruinCard eliminates the need for clanky metal keys. Use your card to obtain admission to your resident hall or any other campus facility or gain access to fitness and leisure facilities, such as gymnasiums and swimming pools.

Debit Card

All BruinCards also include a pre-paid debit card capability, allowing you to load money onto your account and spend it at any BruinCard Merchant location, on or off campus. This option is usable for most on-campus services, including coffeehouses, restaurants, laundering, library printing, snack machines, and ASUCLA locations.

Additionally, the card gives savings on public transportation and access to campus shuttles, making it simpler to get to and from class.

Lost Cards

It's never good to lose a card, but if it happens, you have options. If a BruinCard is lost or stolen, take urgent action. If you ever lose or have your card stolen, notify the UCLA Police Department immediately. Logging in to the BruinCard Online site allows you to freeze account access to avoid misuse. Visit the BruinCard Office to request a replacement card. A $25 fee is usually charged for misplaced cards.
