1. Course restrictions
The one-term language pathway program prepares you to join the LISA concurrent program in either humanities and social sciences or business the following term. You must pass the pathway program to progress to the academic program.
2. Class hours
Classes run Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm, with a lunch hour and two 20-minute breaks. You share 20 hours a week of classroom language, learning with peers of a similar proficiency to your own.
3. Core and elective courses
When you have completed the language pathway program, you join one of two concurrent academic streams, taking classes in either the business school or the humanities and social sciences departments. You plot your own course, choosing one or two stream-specific elective modules in either the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies or the School of Law and Government.
The Applied Language and Intercultural Studies School has core modules in English language, Irish society, and cultural studies, with electives in law, politics, and linguistics. The School of Law and Government focuses on business-related cores, like psychology, accounting, and marketing, with language and politics electives available in both semesters.
All courses are worth 5ECTS and are continuously assessed. Most courses have no final exam. Your expert language teachers immerse you in Irish-themed lessons and cultural activities that help your English skills flourish.
