Your Student Counselor is your study abroad ambassador and supporter. They join your application journey when you’ve confirmed you’re interested in studying abroad. At this point, they guide you through each stage of the application, notify you of the documents you need, let you know when your admission results are in, and walk you through the next steps, including class enrollment and organizing pre-arrival tests.

Courses
Choose three- or eight-week summer programs to complement your studies at your home university. Application Requirements
The requirements outlined in this section include the language proficiency scores you may need to demonstrate your language skills, a guide to the GPA range and other academic prerequisites required by your host university, and a list of documentation and other application materials you will need to finalize your application. You may need to supply additional information throughout the process, and you will be alerted through your emails and SAF Student Portal if this is the case for you.
Language Test Score Requirements
You can use one of several recognised proficiency tests to prove you are capable of working in an academic environment or to help the host institution best support your language learning needs.
- IELTS: 6.0 (5.5 in each component; certain courses require a minimum score of 6.5, 7.0, or 7.5).
- PTE Academic: 51 overall and in each component (PTE Academic Online is not accepted)
- TOEFL iBT: 80 overall (L: 17, R: 18, W: 17, and S: 20). TOEFL iBT Home Edition NOT accepted.
- CET-4: 530
- CET-6: 500
- Duolingo/DET: 115

Housing Information
While UAL has halls of residence in central London, you should book your accommodation as soon as your application is approved. The halls are modern, inspired by the artist community they accommodate. You have a single room with a bathroom, and you share living space and a small kitchen. Both Sketch House and Gardens House provide a full English breakfast, daily, and include bed linen and towels for your stay.
