Program Advisor
Your Student Counselor is your study abroad ambassador and supporter. They join your application journey when you’ve confirmed you’re interested in studying abroad. At this point, they guide you through each stage of the application, notify you of the documents you need, let you know when your admission results are in, and walk you through the next steps, including class enrollment and organizing pre-arrival tests.

The IES Abroad Center in Barcelona is near Plaza Catalunya, a lively square and a locals’ favorite. Using Barcelona’s urban design methods and practices as a case study, the sustainable urban development course will explore the fundamental principles of sustainability and the UN’s sustainable development goals.

Capstone Project
Working with your classmates, you’ll develop and present a well-researched project incorporating concepts, theories, and ideas explored in class.

Application Requirements
The requirements outlined in this section include the language proficiency scores you may need to demonstrate your language skills, a guide to the GPA range and other academic prerequisites required by the program, and a list of documentation and other application materials you will need to finalize your application. You will need to supply additional information throughout the process, and our helpful team will alert you via email or your MyIESAbroad Student Portal whenever this is necessary.

Housing Information
Immerse yourself in Barcelona life in a self-catering residence hall just a 30-minute commute on public transit from the IES Abroad Center. You have a private fully furnished bedroom with linen and towels, WiFi, laundry facilities, and common areas for socializing. You join staff and your classmates for a welcome and farewell meal, then you can explore the local restaurants and cafés for the rest of your meals, a delightful way to experience the true Barcelona and build friendships with your classmates.
