Housing Information

Hotel/Hostels

As academic study tours are typically a short, intense period of exploration and discovery, with a narrow lens on a specific theme, they usually last a few weeks—shorter than the normal study abroad experience—and sometimes travel to multiple destinations.

During your Cape Town study tour, you share a hotel room with one other student on the program. The hotel has a gym, free Wi-Fi, and daily housekeeping. You can share your experiences with fellow students over your morning breakfast buffet before heading to class.

The hotel is in Sea Point, 15 minutes from the IES Abroad Center, and close to the ocean. It’s also a short drive from the shopping, dining, and entertainment at the popular, heritage-rich W&A Waterfront, with its vibrant art and design spaces, Ferris wheel, and independent markets.

Each program has different accommodation requirements, so SAF plans for each diligently. Program advisors can share more detailed information and field additional questions.
