Consistently ranked among the most academically selective universities in Japan, Waseda University also stands alongside prominent national universities for its research output. Wenzhou University of Technology is an undergraduate public university. It is the former Wenzhou University Oujiang College. There are eight colleges and one public teaching department. Xi'an Jiaotong University ( XJTU) is a C9 League university with strengths in engineering, technology, management, and public health located in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. XJTU's eight affiliated teaching hospitals include two ranked in China's top 100. The university is the hub of the University Alliance of the Silk Road, an international academic alliance under the umbrella of the People's Republic of China's One Belt, One Road initiative.

Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is an international joint university based in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. Founded in 2006 and resulting from a partnership between the University of Liverpool and Xi'an Jiaotong University, it is the first Sino-British joint venture between research led universities. The University primarily focuses on science, technology, engineering, architecture and business with a secondary focus in English.

Xi 'an University of Posts and Telecommunications (XUPT) is a general institution of higher learning with engineering as its main focus, with the coordinated development of engineering, management, science, economics, liberal arts, law and art. It is an important base for personnel training and scientific research of information industry and modern postal industry in China, especially in Northwest China.

Xiamen Institute of Technology is a full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. In 2015, it was approved to become one of the first batch of independent undergraduate universities in Fujian Province. In 2019, it passed the assessment of undergraduate teaching in regular institutions of higher learning by the Ministry of Education.

Xiamen University is a public university in Xiamen, Fujian, with strengths in economics and management, fine arts, law, chemistry, journalism, communication, and mathematics. Xiamen was the first university in China founded by a member of the overseas Chinese diaspora. It is now a top-ranked university directly administered by the Chinese Ministry of Education and recognized as a Class A institution in the Double First Class University Plan, a government initiative to cultivate a group of elite Chinese universities into "world-class" institutions.
